Trophy Beasts (CLOSED SPECIES)

Trophy Beasts were a type of bird hunted to extinction. Normally, you think that's be the last of them, but these guys game back with a vengeance. Before going extinct, they were a large breed of bird, a little bigger than an ostrich, called Ground Fliers because they dragged their wings on the ground to support their large upper body. After being killed off for meat and purely for sport, the spirits of the dead birds became spiteful. 

The birds are now semi-organic, ghost-like beings. They are now called trophy beasts because they still have the mount cutting their neck from the rest of their body, an everlasting reminder of the fate they met. These birds are highly aggressive towards humans. They can take the form of a hanging mount to sneak up on someone to give them a scare. Trophy Beasts feed off of human fear. They are commonly found in hunter's homes or they will move to haunted houses on Halloween to feed off of a large feast of fear. Since these birds are technically dead, they do not breed. They are often found in flocks of 8 or 9, but some reports claim their have been flocks as large as 20. Males are slightly larger than the females, but the females are more aggressive. Leadership in Trophy Beast society is determined by how much ghost-like whisps the bird has.
